01 // Where the native integration stops
Eight gaps in the native Cin7 HubSpot sync
The connector is useful, but it is one-directional by design. That matters when you want products flowing to sales for quoting and won deals flowing back as orders. These are the eight things to plan for.
No two-way sync
Turning on sales sync locks products and customers to the same direction.
No stock quantity
Available stock is not a synced product field, so sales cannot see live inventory in HubSpot.
Not real-time
The fastest auto-sync interval is every 2 hours.
Deals import once
Later edits to a won deal, like quantities and prices, do not reach the Cin7 sale.
Limited order status
Imported sales stop at Ordered. Picking, packing and shipping happen in Cin7 only, and nothing flows back to the deal.
Stock failures
If stock is short, the sale is not created and shows as a sync error until stock arrives.
Data quality dependent
Mismatched SKUs, duplicate contacts and contacts without a company cause skips or duplicates. Empty mapped fields are skipped with no warning.
Prerequisites
HubSpot Sales Hub Professional, the HubSpot Beta API and a Cin7 external integration license.
Not sure which of these you are hitting? We will tell you.
02 // How the native connector works
Two modes, one direction
You pick one direction, and it applies to products, customers and sales together.
Cin7 CoreHubSpot
Products, customers (with contacts) and sales are pushed to HubSpot. Cin7 sales appear as deals, and status changes in Cin7 update the deal stage. Optional extras such as order total, invoice status and shipment status can be sent to custom deal properties.
HubSpotCin7 Core
Companies, contacts, products and deals are pulled into Cin7. When a deal reaches a chosen stage, a Cin7 sale is created once, as a quote or order. Customers and products on the deal are imported with it.
- Products
- SKU, name, description, price tier and price
- Matched on SKU, then name. Auto-sync every 2h, 4h, 8h, 12h or daily.
- Customers
- Cin7 customer = HubSpot company, with contacts
- Companies match on name, contacts on email. New records are created if no match.
- Sales
- Cin7 sale = HubSpot deal, mapped by status or stage
- One HubSpot pipeline only. Imported sales are created as Estimating, Estimated, Ordering or Ordered.
03 // How to close the gaps
Three ways to fix it
There are three ways to improve it. Only the first is worth doing whatever you decide next.
Tidy up first
Align SKUs and names across both systems, dedupe HubSpot companies and contacts, decide which system owns each record, and turn on error alerts to a shared mailbox.
Add middleware (Make or Zapier)
A low-code layer using both APIs. It can push available stock to a HubSpot product property on a short schedule, and create Cin7 sales from closed-won deals with a stock and SKU check before posting.
Paid connector or custom build
Specialist third-party connectors offer deeper two-way sync for a license fee. A custom build gives full control but needs ongoing maintenance.
04 // Our recommended approach
Near-live stock. Orders that post.
Use the native connector for what it does well, and add two small flows for what it cannot do.
Cin7 stays the system of record
One source of truth for stock, prices and orders. HubSpot shows it and feeds it, it does not own it.
Native connector for the basics
Run it in Export mode for products and customers only, with sales sync switched off. It is allowed, and it is reliable for that.
Flow 1: live stock in HubSpot
Available stock is refreshed into a HubSpot product property every few minutes, so quotes reflect near-live inventory.
Flow 2: won deal to Cin7 order
A closed-won deal becomes a Cin7 sales order after a SKU and stock check. The result and order number are written back to the deal.
Deals that fail a check go to a review queue, so no unfulfillable orders are created. Stock updates would be near-real-time, not instant.
Reps quote from stock numbers that are hours old. Won deals get re-keyed into Cin7 by hand. Orders for short stock fail as sync errors that someone has to spot and chase.
Quotes reflect near-live stock, refreshed every few minutes. Closed-won deals become Cin7 sales orders after a SKU and stock check, with the order number written back to the deal. Anything that fails goes to a review queue.

05 // The free review
What we look at on the call
A conversation with a Cin7 specialist about your setup, not a sales pitch.
Your current sync
Which direction it runs, which records it moves, and where it skips, duplicates or errors today.
Your data
SKU and name matches, duplicate companies and contacts, and which system should own each record.
Your fix
Whether tidy-up and the native connector are enough, or whether middleware, a paid connector or a custom build fits.
06 // Questions
Cin7 and HubSpot, answered
Does Cin7 Core integrate with HubSpot?
Yes. Cin7 Core has a built-in HubSpot connector under Integrations > HubSpot. It syncs products, customers with contacts, and sales (which appear as deals), but in one direction at a time.
Is the Cin7 and HubSpot sync two-way?
Not natively. You choose either Export to HubSpot or Import from HubSpot, and that direction applies to products, customers and sales together. Two-way sync needs middleware such as Make or Zapier, a paid connector, or a custom build.
Can HubSpot show Cin7 stock levels?
Not with the native connector, because available stock is not one of the synced product fields. A small automation can push available stock into a HubSpot product property every few minutes so your sales team can quote from near-live inventory.
How often does the Cin7 HubSpot sync run?
Product auto-sync runs every 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours, or daily. Two hours is the fastest interval, so the native sync is not real-time.
Can a closed-won HubSpot deal create a Cin7 sale automatically?
Yes, in Import mode a deal that reaches a chosen stage creates a Cin7 sale once, as a quote or order. Later edits to the deal do not reach the sale, and if stock is short the sale is not created. A middleware flow can check SKUs and stock first and write the order number back to the deal.
What do I need to connect Cin7 Core and HubSpot?
HubSpot Sales Hub Professional, the HubSpot Beta API and a Cin7 external integration license. Before you switch anything on, align SKUs and names across both systems and remove duplicate companies and contacts.
