3PL and warehouse //
// Cin7 solutions
Your 3PL and Cin7 should agree on what is on the shelf.
Fiskal connects Cin7 to your 3PL and warehouse systems so orders, receipts, tracking, and stock counts match in every location. When the warehouse is right, the financials follow.
01 // The reality gap
Connected is not the same as correct.
Your 3PL is live. Orders go out. Tracking comes back. Everything looks fine.
Then someone compares the 3PL report to Cin7. The numbers do not match.
So someone builds a spreadsheet to find out who is right.
Most teams call this a glitch, or a 3PL problem. It is neither. The data is moving. The mappings, timing, and status logic that decide whether that data is usable are where the gap lives.
Cin7 lists more than 125 3PLs and warehouse systems in its 3PL Connect catalog. Switching one on is the easy part.
A connector gets data moving. It does not check that the data is right.
02 // What is actually happening
Where 3PL data and Cin7 drift apart
Cin7 and your 3PL pass seven kinds of data back and forth: sales orders, purchase orders, shipping confirmations and tracking, receipts, inventory adjustments, stock transfers, and product information. Each one can drift.
Mapping drift
SKUs in your 3PL’s warehouse system do not match SKUs in Cin7. Stock and orders land in the wrong place.
Visibility gaps
Cin7 does not see current 3PL stock. Sales channels sell what is not there, or stop selling what is.
Stuck orders
Orders that are authorized but never move through fulfillment keep holding stock. Available quantity drops. Shopify shows less than you actually have. We call this the Allocation Anchor.
Inbound that never closes
Purchase orders go to the 3PL before stock arrives. If the receipt does not sync back, the PO never fully closes. The stock is on the shelf in the warehouse and in limbo in Cin7.
Late or failed updates
Shipping confirmations and inventory updates arrive late, or not at all. Cin7 keeps working from yesterday’s reality.
Manual patching
Someone re-enters shipping and fulfillment data to close the gap. Now the same transaction exists twice. We call this the Double Entry Trap.
03 // Operational cause, financial consequence
The warehouse holds the stock. The books value it.
When the two disagree, someone writes a manual journal. That fixes the balance sheet and hides the cause. The gap gets harder to trace every month.
- Receipts at the 3PL and receipts in Cin7 disagreePurchase accruals and stock value drift apart. The balance sheet stops matching the inventory report.
- 3PL costs that belong in inventory cost are expensed insteadCOGS looks too low. Margins look too high. This is the Landed Cost Leak.
- A stock adjustment at the 3PL never reaches Cin7Inventory on the balance sheet no longer matches the shelf.
- An order leaves on one date and the confirmation syncs on anotherInvoice dates and stock movement dates disagree. Two reports, two answers, neither one wrong.
04 // Strategic impact
What this costs you as the owner
Inventory is the largest consumer of cash in an inventory business. You decide what to buy, what to promote, and how much cash to tie up based on what Cin7 shows you.
If Cin7 lags the warehouse, every one of those decisions carries risk you cannot see.
Peak season makes it visible. A setup that copes at 20 orders a day can fail at 500. Peak does not create the weakness. It exposes it.
You end up with:
- Stock you cannot trust across locations
- Overselling on one channel and idle stock on another
- Margins you cannot isolate by channel
- A month end that depends on someone’s spreadsheet
- Warehouse
- Cin7
Same setup. The gap was always there. Peak makes it wide.
05 // What Fiskal does
We connect it, then we keep it connected
Audit
We review your current 3PL integration. We look for mapping gaps, sync issues, and compliance risks. We trace each difference back to its source.
Align
We set up or refine the connection to your 3PL’s warehouse management system. Orders, receipts, tracking, adjustments, and transfers are mapped so Cin7, the warehouse, and your books describe the same stock.
Govern
Quarterly reviews and proactive fixes keep the integration aligned as your volume, locations, and 3PL requirements change.
We do not move to the next phase until the data in the current one is sound.
Who this is for: Inventory businesses between $1M and $100M in revenue that:
- Fulfill through one or more 3PL partners
- Hold stock in more than one location
- Need current stock visibility across channels

07 // 5 questions
Cin7 and your 3PL, answered
Does Cin7 connect to my 3PL?
Cin7 lists more than 125 3PLs and warehouse systems in its 3PL Connect catalog. If yours is on the list, we configure it and check the data. If it is not, we scope the options with you.
What data moves between Cin7 and a 3PL?
Sales orders, purchase orders, shipping confirmations and tracking, receipts, inventory adjustments, stock transfers, and product information.
Can I use more than one 3PL?
Cin7 describes its 3PL connection as ready for more than one 3PL. We map each warehouse so every location reports into the same system.
Why is my stock still off now that the integration is live?
Live does not mean accurate. Mapping, timing, and order status logic decide that. The usual suspects are mismatched SKUs, receipts that never sync back, and orders stuck before fulfillment.
Is this a Cin7 problem or a 3PL problem?
Usually neither. It is an alignment problem between the two. We trace it before anyone gets blamed.
