“We grew faster than our systems could handle. Fiskal helped us catch up.”

As Freedom of Movement scaled from 8 to over 30 stores, their systems couldn’t keep up, until Fiskal stepped in. What began as outsourced accounting evolved into a strategic partnership. Fiskal led a full migration to Cin7 Core, implemented POS and WMS integrations, and delivered real-time visibility into inventory, margins, and demand. With scalable systems and expert support on call, FOM gained the clarity and confidence to grow, sustainably and without compromise.

Freedom of Movement (FOM) was founded in 2013 with a bold vision: to build a proudly South African lifestyle brand, driven by quality craftsmanship and global ambition.

By 2018, they were operating 8 retail stores and one online shop. But behind the growth, cracks were starting to form.

About Freedom of Movement

“We were growing too fast for our systems,” says Ruan, Head of Logistics and Operations. “And we couldn't trust our numbers.”

FOM had momentum, but their tech couldn’t keep up. As they expanded into new regions and added locations, they began facing:

  • Poor visibility into stock across locations

  • Demand planning issues due to fragmented data

  • Lack of clarity on margins and cost of goods sold

  • A sprawling, disconnected system architecture

Without a strong operational foundation, the brand risked scaling chaos instead of growth.

The Challenge

Fiskal had already been supporting FOM with outsourced accounting. But as the cracks deepened, we recommended a foundational shift: move inventory management to Cin7 Core.

The turning point

“Fiskal suggested migrating to Cin7, and it was a game-changer.”

1. Guided a strategic migration to Cin7
The decision wasn’t just about switching software. It was about re-architecting how FOM managed inventory across stores, warehouses, and continents. We led the rollout from end to end, configuring the right modules, aligning systems, and training the team.

2. Enabled visibility at scale
With Cin7 fully implemented, FOM gained real-time insight into:

  • Inventory levels across 30+ locations

  • Sales data from two global online stores

  • Margin visibility by product, location, and channel

3. Rolled out POS and WMS integrations
As they grew, FOM unlocked more of Cin7’s ecosystem. We helped them implement:

  • Point-of-sale (POS) in every retail store

  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) for operational control

4. Provided on-demand operational & accounting support
Whether it was a quick call or a deep process redesign, FOM leaned on Fiskal as an extension of their team. We didn’t just configure software, we built the connective tissue that made it all work.

“Having experts we can call at any time, who already understand our business, has been a huge advantage.”

What Fiskal did

  • Inventory visibility across continents and stores

  • Reliable demand planning and margin reporting

  • Expanded operations without system slowdowns

  • In-house teams trained and empowered on Cin7

  • Peace of mind at every growth milestone

The results

“Fiskal isn’t just a vendor. They’re integrated. They’re part of the team.”

From 8 stores to 30+, and two online storefronts spanning continents, Freedom of Movement is now built for scale. The systems are stronger. The numbers are trustworthy. And the growth isn’t just faster, it’s sustainable.

Looking ahead

“Fiskal’s attentiveness, guidance, and trustworthiness set them apart. We wouldn’t be where we are without them.”
